Joy of Christmas – a hope to rekindle happiness

Christmas is a season which celebrates love and kindness within the month of December in which the Christ was born. The happiness of enlightening others’ lives while extending love and spreading kindness is the true spirit of Christmas. The ultimate celebration would be to make this season a special one for the souls who seek happiness and attention.
To share the joy of Christmas with the ones who deserve to be happy, the Rotaractors from Rotaract Club of Panadura and Rotaract Club of Alumni of University of Moratuwa joined hands with Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa with the objective of making the lives of the girls who are diagnosed with Down syndrome better and to touch their hearts with the message of kindness and love of Christmas. With all the preparations done and with a pure hope in heart, the Rotaractors stepped-in to share the joy of Christmas with the sisters living at SURASA – Moratuwa Special Education School and Home for Girls on the 28th December 2019.
The day started off with a balloon dancing event which made everyone purely happy, and afterwards they had a lot of fun playing games of gift-passing and hat-passing. Refreshments were served to add in more joy to the evening, and the Rotaractors and the girls joined in to sing and dance to the melody of love and joy. Later, they were presented with gifts and some other necessities. The girls participated in all the activities with courage, and the happiness could be seen in their faces.
The event gave the Rotaractors an opportunity to share the kindness, peace and love, bringing out the true meaning of Christmas and the day brought laughter and happiness to the lives of the sisters at the Special Education School and Home.
