We, the Rotaractors of University of Moratuwa joined hands with the freshers of our university for the year 2020. On the 26th of February 2020 at the university premises, the most awaited inauguration ceremony was held with the support of all our members in the Rotaract family.  The event was embellished with the theme of ‘Harry Potter’ in order to enhance the interest of the newly joined members towards the club.

On the day, all the participants were divided into 4 main houses as in the Harry Potter series. Thus, they were able to create bonds with each other from different faculties and share their knowledge and experience. Although they were initially introduced to the club separately according to their respective departments, at the event they were able to enjoy the evening better together. Our prominent goal was to give a better image of our club and introduce the world of opportunities that they would gain by becoming a Rotaractor.

The evening was full of new faces and happy smiles. We were able to give them the best out of the best through discussion sessions and entertaining games and activities. It was obvious that the newly joined members were united within their groups and were cooperatively working as teams. They were able to improve their team spirit, harmony, self-confidence and togetherness.

In our club all members are taught humanity and good deeds as well as professionalism through various events. This contributes to uplift their characters irrespective of academic scores.

With all the support and dedication of everyone we were able to make this event an outstanding success. This is not the end. There is much more to come up in terms of adventure and experience. This is just the beginning of the mighty Rotaract journey for a novice Rotaractor.

From here onwards, our journey will continue.
