Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa, initiated in 1995, is the first ever institution based Rotaract Club of Sri Lanka. With only 16 members at its origin, the club has been walking on a glorious path for the last 22 years, holding its position as the strongest vibrant student association within the university.

Now, grown into a dynamic organization with more than 200 enthusiastic and dedicated members representing all faculties of the university, namely Faculty of Engineering, IT, Architecture and Business, the club continues to initiate more sustainable projects in the avenues of Community Service, Professional Development, International Service and Club Service. Charted under Rotaract District 3220 – Sri Lanka and Maldives, the club is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Colombo West.

Continuing its service for the 23rd year with the leadership of Rtr. Paveen Perera, President 2018/19 and his board of directors, Rotaract Mora carries out numerous projects with the aim of serving the community at large and providing opportunities for personal development of the members, while going by the year theme “Discovering New Horizons”.

Along the glorious path that the club has journeyed, many milestones were passed, where Rotaract Mora was recognized for its untiring efforts. “Are You Ready? 2017”, which is the signature project under the avenue of Professional Development, won the People’s Choice Award for Professional Service at the Rotaract South Asia MDIO Outstanding Awards and Recognition. Further, the club was awarded the ‘Single Club International Winner in year 2016-17 Rotaract Outstanding Project Award’ by the Rotary International for the project “Grama Prabodhaya”. Surpassing all projects carried out by over 8000 worldwide Rotaract clubs in 167 countries Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa became the first Sri Lankan Rotaract Club to win this prestigious award. In the last three consecutive years and many times in the past, Rotaract Mora became the Most Outstanding Rotaract Club in RID 3220. Likewise, Rotaract Mora continues to gain international accolades while winning awards and citations at the annual Rotaract District Assemblies.

Upholding the motto of Rotaract, “Service Above Self”, Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa continues to initiate dozens of new projects each year, serving as the ideal platform for young minds who believe they can make a difference, to come together for a worthy mission.
