It has been a few days since the 31st Rotaract District assembly. Do you guys feel amazing for the things you have done? Motivated, Inspired to do more? Are you excited about the coming year?
I’m pretty sure that you are!
It has been a few years since day one of being a Rotaractor. For the last four years, I have seen thousands of beautiful souls who work to better their communities. They dreamt about a beautiful planet with equality and humanity.
They are called “Rotaractors”, young leaders who work to better their communities while fulfilling the social responsibility as the youth. From my point of view, Rotaract is not just a youth movement but an all-in-one package to serve your community at large while developing yourself in a professional context and making memories for life with your buddies.
If you are a person who joined the Rotaract district assembly, you would surely get the amazement I have, thinking how on earth this number of projects have been possible. This is the true beauty of this movement. Over 8000 young leaders covering 80+ cubs giving more than 700,000+ hours of their time for volunteering have marked these success stories. There were more than 2500 projects created for the wellbeing of society covering every aspect of professional development, community service, club service, environmental services, and international services.
No matter what project got awards, what club got the recognition each and every project is unique in its own ways. They are masterpieces scripted by several parties and end of the day, used to cover a requirement of the society. Thus they all fueled the purpose of making our world a beautiful place where all its parties are treated equally.
Once Kobe Bryant has stated that,
“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.”
As a movement, we are doing that. We keep inspiring people, we have created the foundations for some cultures. As a movement, we have created impact stories for the last 51 years on communities beyond geographical borders. Covid-19 is no novelty for you and me. Being one of the most challenging times, the past year is a good testament to the level of service we provide and the social responsibilities we do not fail to fulfill as the country’s youth. Yet, there is more to be done!
While typing this article, four essential notions came into my mind. They are truth, fairness, goodwill, and better friendships, and finally, my special ingredient is the impact. When I recall these four concepts, I am sure that many of us will remember where I have picked these four precious concerns.
Yes, you are right!
The Rotary four-way test is the one that always drags us back to the track, recalling why we are serving with this movement. If we look back to the journey we have come across, we can talk for hours and hours about our great initiations.
Simply as I mentioned, every project is a masterpiece; every club has been doing its best amidst tons of challenges. They deserve this recognition. They are unique to each other, and there is a lot to learn from each other. We can do a lot more than we have done already. So congratulations to all the award winners and congratulations to each and every club who worked hard to complete a successful year.
Rotaract has always been about redefining friendships and redefining service. This year, I invite all of you to be a part of it. Be a part as we embrace possibilities, create opportunities and redefine lives.
Together, let’s redefine the spirit of lives!
